Our Preschool
The Children’s Center  (TCC) of  St. Andrew United Methodist Church (SAUMC) offers responsible and qualified childcare on site at the (SAUMC) St Andrew United Methodist Church.   The Children’s Center is a Pre-K School for children ages 2-5 years old during the week.

The purpose of The Children’sCenter ofSt. Andrew United Methodist Church is to provide an atmosphere of Christian love and nurturing through quality child care and early childhood education.

Our early childhood program is designed to meet the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of young children.  The atmosphere of The Children’s Center is nurturing and supportive of the whole family. We strive to enhance self-confidence and develop pride in accomplishment.

The Person We Seek
The director must possess personal qualities of friendliness, maturity, responsibility, self-motivation, and energy. He or she must love and genuinely care about children.   The individual must be willing to work  in an church  setting and nurturing ties between the preschool, community, and the church. The professional qualities we seek include organizational skills, basic understanding of budgets and financial record-keeping, and an ability to work with and direct others.   We are seeking a individual with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  Early Childhood Education experience in preschool or education environment also meets the professional requirements.    A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hire.

Responsibilities and Duties

-Serves as the contact person to parents who request program information
-Enrolls and assigns students to classes
-Maintains preschool policies and procedures that are consistent TCC handbooks, SAUMC policies, and as prescribe by state and federal laws.
-Participates in the interviewing, hiring, and supervision of teachers
-Ensures that all safety codes and procedures are followed
-Responsible for scheduling teacher training hours and staff meetings
-Documents income and expenses, as well as collecting all fees
-Oversees the purchasing of supplies and other materialsInterfaces with preschool board members
-Manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the preschool program
-Ensures that appropriate academic areas are being taught in each classroom
